Shortly after Pedro Pascal’s memorable turn on HBO’s Game of Thrones came to an end in 2014, he was cast in a leading role in Narcos, a new original drama series coming to Netflix this summer.

Pacal will play Javier Peña, a DEA Agent in the ‘80s who is given a deadly mission: find and eliminate the infamous Colombian drug kingpin, Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura).

Created by Chris Brancato, Eric Newman, and Carlo Bernard, Narcos fictionalizes the story of Peña, Escobar, and the Medellin Cartel at the height of the drug war. The series also stars Manolo Cardona as Eduardo Mendoza, Boyd Holbrook as Steve Murphy, Ana de la Reguera as Elisa, Stephanie Sigman as Valeria Velez, and Joanna Christie as Connie Murphy.

Netflix has finally released the first full trailer for Narcos, which offers a taste of what’s to come over the ten episode first season.

Narcos will premiere on August 28 with all ten episodes simultaneously available on Netflix.
