These new Ghostbusters appear to be in a bit of a rush… Paul Feig’s reboot of the beloved sci-fi comedy series only began production yesterday, and already they’re here in a series of set pics courtesy of FameFlynet, showing Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy and Kate McKinnon in action.

The new, female-centric spin on Ghostbusters also stars Leslie Bibb (not pictured), and Chris Hemsworth as the paranormal investigator’s new receptionist. Not much more about the plot is known, although it’s clear that the look of the Ghostbusters, at least, has been updated. We’re particular fans of Kate McKinnon’s get up. It looks like she’s a roadie for a Nickelodeon stage show, complete with slime-covered overalls and hip yellow sunglasses.

And while we can’t say for certain whether the new Ghostbusters will follow the character types of the original movies closely, it certainly does appear like McKinnon is the surrogate for the gung ho team member Ray (originally played by Dan Ackroyd), and that Kristen Wiig’s conservative get up could make her a fitting replacement for Egon (originally played by Harold Ramis). As for Melissa McCarthy, if she’s not Venkman/Bill Murray type, we don’t know who is.

But that’s just conjecture. The only fact we have is that these set pics are here now for your perusal, and that Paul Feig and his impressive cast have their work cut out for them if they are going to live up to a film CraveOnline just called one of the ten best comedies ever made.

Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters is scheduled to premiere in theaters on July 22, 2016.
