Earlier today at the New York Comic Con, “Robot Chicken” co-creator Seth Green officially announced that the series has been renewed by Adult Swim. Naturally, the news was met by thunderous applause from the packed IGN Theater.

Joining Green on stage were fellow “Robot Chicken” writers, Dan Milano, Kevin Shinick, screenwriter Michael Dougherty, actress Clare Grant and Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin.

Because the panel was devoted only to questions from the crowd, not every answer shed any light on the upcoming season of “Robot Chicken.” However, the panel revealed that rapper 50 Cent will guest star and perform a duet with PaRappa the Rapper in a future skit. Green also referenced the first season of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” by saying that Dr. Noonien Soong will perform a rap about why he gave Data a working penis. Brent Spiner will reprise his role for that sketch.

Ke$ha will also make a guest appearance on the show as sentient killer robot. RZA is also doing a voice for the series.

When the question of “Robot Chicken” toys came up, Green revealed that the team has tried to get Bitch Pudding and The Apocalypse Ponies made into toys, but they have run into some problems. Green said that he understood why Hasbro would be reluctant to allow them to potentially damage the My Little Pony franchise.

Regarding the long dormant “Titan Maximo,” Green indicated that it won’t be back for a second season but it may live again as special. And while the team did not announce another theme special, they did indicate a willingness to do another DC Superheroes special.

in non-”Robot Chicken” news, Dougherty mentioned that he is trying to convince Legendary to allow him to make a sequel to Trick 'r Treat.
