Joseph Gordon-Levitt was long rumored to be a part of the Dark Knight Rises cast, back before anyone knew what they were talking about. Christopher Nolan is notoriously loyal to his actors, and many of them make repeat appearances throughout his films so Levitt – who, if we can speak technically for a moment, totally pwned in Inception – seemed like a logical and pretty darned cool casting choice in Nolan’s Batman 3. No dice, it seemed: Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway appeared to have the villain roles locked down when Nolan announced them in January.
Or do they? Deadline is reporting that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is "in talks" to appear in The Dark Knight Rises after all, which sounds like news, and that they’re "told that he will be in the movie when Nolan starts production this spring," which sounds like a rumor. At least it’s an encouraging rumor. The internet is all abuzz – "Is he The Riddler?!" "Is he Hugo Strange?!" – but frankly, it could be a glorified cameo like Anthony Michael Hall’s brief appearance as a TV host in The Dark Knight, which was once rumored to be a full-fledged role as Deathstroke The Terminator. Heck, he could be playing Bat-Mite for all we know.
Enjoy your speculation, internet. CRAVE Online be back once something official is announced, since we’re totally above all that noise.
Oh man, wouldn’t he make a kick-ass Great White Shark?
