Just when you thought it was safe to take pictures in the water again.

Long-time shark expert and diver Jim Abernethy was on a standard film shoot off Cat Island in the Bahamas when he got the shock of his life. Abernethy was photographing a blue marlin underwater when out of nowhere, a 10-foot long, 600-pound mako shark shot past. In all the madness (you can make out the muffled, underwater screams of terror), Abernethy somehow managed to snap a pristine picture with the shark coming out the righthand side of the frame. In addition to the picture, the entire encounter was caught on film by a video crew. We know photographers pride themselves on doing anything for the perfect shot, but this is taking that attitude a little too far.
