Clare Grant is an American actress/voice actress and former model. She has starred in movies such as "Walk the Line" and "Black Snake Moan," as well as TV shows including "$5 Cover" and "Q.V.G."
Clare Grant (born Clare C. Johnson) is a woman of many talents. Growing up in Memphis, Tennessee, she got her start entertaining audiences with her voice work on various radio commercials. Around the same time, she also sang competitively and performed in local theater. Her love of performing for audiences is likely due in part to her namesake, father Clarence Grant. He, too, has a knack for the public eye, as he was a popular local disc jockey when she was a child.
By the time Clare hit college, she began supporting herself by modeling with Elite Model Management in Miami, Florida. This venture led to gigs in Europe for brands such as L'Oreal. Around the same time, she appeared in her first film role in 2005's "Walk the Line." From there, she was discovered by writer/director Craig Brewer, who went on to cast her in a series of indie films before giving her the role of Kell in "Black Snake Moan," followed by the lead on the MTV series "$5 Cover."
Clare's other major acting credits include roles on series such as "The Guild," "Team Unicorn," and "Q.V.G.," the second of which she also executive produced. Her other major producing credits are the series of "Star Wars"-themed "Saber" shorts. The first "saber' short film even won her and co-creater Rileah Vanderbilt two 2009 Star Wars Fan Film Awards for "Audience Choice" and "Best Action".
In 2008, Clare began to occasionally voice characters on the popular Adult Swim series "Robot Chicken." This, in turn, led to the promising young actress dating and eventually marrying the co-creator of the series, actor Seth Green, on May 1, 2010.
