Alicia Vikander is a Swedish actress. She is known for her roles in films such as "Ex Machina" and "A Royal Affair," as well as the TV series "Second Avenue."
Born Alicia Amanda Vikander to parents Maria Fahl and Svante Vikande on October 3, 1988 in Gothenburg, Västra Götalands län, Sweden, she spent her youth focused on dancing, training with the Royal Swedish Ballet School for nine years. During this time, she starred in a number of theater productions at the Gothenburg Opera in Sweden including "The Sound of Music" and "Les Miserables." Of course, as she grew older, she was bitten by the acting bug and decided it was time to refocus her efforts there.

Like many actresses starting out, Alicia's career began as a series of short film and television roles. Before her appearance in the film "Pure in 2009, which kickstarted her big screen fame and won her a Guldbagge Award for Best Actress, she had starred on a number of TV shows including "En decemberdrom" and "Second Avenue." By 2012, her success had gone international with major roles in films such as "Anna Karenina" and the Academy Award-nominated "A Royal Affair." From there, her career only continued to build steam with appearances in films like 2013's "The Fifth Estate," "The Seventh Son" in 2014, and "Ex Machina" a year later. By this point, she had at least five more films lined up for release the same year including the big screen adaptation of television's "The Man from U.N.C.L.E."
By 2015, Alicia had moved from Sweden and continued her career from new digs in London, England. Around the same time, she was also named the newest face of Louis Vuitton, cementing a long and bright future ahead of her.
